Xavier STEM Quiz 2.O-2079

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) is a broad term used to group together several academic disciplines. This term is typically used to address an education policy or curriculum choices in schools. It has implications for workforce development, national security concerns (as a shortage of STEM-educated citizens can reduce effectiveness in this area) and immigration policy

Xavier Science and Robotics , Xavier E-Magazine hub, Xavier Literature club  and Xavier Students Council have successfully conducted a 3 days “Xavier  STEM Quiz2.0” from 2nd-5th December 2022 at the premises of Xavier International College with an active participation of students from grade 11  and 12.The organizing committee was formed among the members of the  organizing clubs and the tasks were delegated among the volunteers and  the organizing committee . There were around 63 participants(21teams)  who registers for the quiz competition. Registration were done online as  well as in a physical booth situated at the college premises. 

The quiz  competition was conducted with 5 different round including MCQs, Subjective, Rapid fire round, gk round and the buzzer round. The first day  had MCQs where all the participants were give with a paper of 20 questions  for 30 minutes regarding STEM. The results were soon published and the  top16 high scoring teams were selected .The second day included the  knockout round with teams divided with category of 8 in two different  rooms with 4 from each room for the first phase of knockout and  eliminating total of 8 teams in the first phase of knockout we had a short  break where the food was provided by our club to the participants and after  the break among the 8 teams 4 were to be selected for the final day. 

Finally  on the final day the top4 were played through all those different round and  the winner with the most points (Team Alpha Centauri )stood first after that  we had a speech from the principal and award ceremony. The performance  of the participants demonstrated the fruitfulness of the 3 days STEM quiz. The three days STEM quiz came to an end by thanksgiving from our  chairman whereby he thanked the students for their participation. The great responses of grade11 in STEM quiz show their attraction for knowledge and  exciting batch for the institution.
